Description

The O-ring 105×3,5 NBR90 is a static and dynamic seal with a circular (toroidal) cross-section, made of nitrile rubber (NBR) with a hardness of 90 Shore A. The ring profile is symmetrical: the round cross-section gives an even contact pressure on the sealing surfaces in the groove. The seal is designed for static joints (axial and radial) and for dynamic applications with slow reciprocating motion. NBR 90 Shore A is harder than standard NBR 70, which gives higher extrusion resistance at higher working pressures. Nitrile rubber has good resistance to mineral oils, greases, hydrocarbon fuels and water. The O-ring replaces sealing rings of the same profile (OR) made by Aston Seals, Dichtomatik, Guarnitec, Hallite, Kastas, Parker, Simrit, Trelleborg and SKF, in all sizes matching the metric size 105×3,5. Technical data: Seal type: O-ring (toroidal profile) Material: NBR (nitrile rubber) Hardness: 90 Shore A Inside diameter (d): 105 mm / approx. 4,134" Outside diameter (D): 112 mm / approx. 4,409" Cross-section / thickness (H): 3,5 mm / approx. 0,138" Media: mineral oils, greases, aliphatic hydrocarbons, water, silicone oils, nitrogen, oxygen, ozone, glycol-based fluids

Material

NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber)

  • Operating temperature-30 °C to +100 °C

Good with oils, fuels, water and compressed air. Not for brake fluid, solvents, strong acids or sunlight.

Chemical resistance
Can be usedDo not use
Mineral oil, grease and hydraulic oil (H, H-L, H-LP)Brake fluid (DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT 5.1): the ring swells quickly
Diesel, fuel oil, keroseneSunlight and open air (ozone): the rubber cracks
Petrol (gasoline), propane, butaneAcetone, MEK, ethyl acetate and similar solvents
Water and water-based liquids, up to +80 °CBenzene, toluene, trichloroethylene (aromatic and chlorinated solvents)
Compressed air, also with oil mistSynthetic ester oils and fire-resistant fluid HFD-R
Water-based fire-resistant hydraulic fluids (HFA, HFB, HFC)Strong (concentrated) acids, e.g. nitric and sulfuric, and strong oxidizers
Oil-and-water emulsionsSteam and hot water above +100 °C
Weak acids, alkalis and salt solutions, at room temperature
Use with cautionPetrol with a lot of bioethanol (E10, E85): better use FKM (Viton)

Shows low compression set within the recommended temperature range.
