Description
The 56x70x5,5 ASL-7 ACM oil seal is used in worm gear mechanisms, in particular in the output shaft area of the Mercedes-Benz LS7 steering gear (rack and pinion). The design is based on an acrylic elastomer (ACM), which is resistant to oils and elevated temperatures. A plastic support ring reinforces the sealing lip, which enables stable operation under increased pressure. Technical parameters: Inner diameter (d1): 56 mm (2.20") Outer diameter (D): 70 mm (2.76") Height (H): 5,5 mm (0.22") Material: ACM (acrylic rubber) Type: ASL-7 Manufacturer: Auto Supplier Code: AS 17515 SKU: 22611 Purpose: mechanism - worm gear Application: output shaft sealing area Brand: Mercedes-Benz LS7 (steering gear)
Material
VMQ (silicone rubber, vinyl methyl silicone)
- Operating temperature-60 °C to +200 °C
Best for extreme heat and cold, food contact, ozone and sunlight, in static joints only. Not for fuels, mineral oils, pressurized steam or moving parts.
| Can be used | Do not use |
|---|---|
| Extreme temperatures: stays fully elastic from -50 to -60 °C up to +200 °C | Moving parts: friction and abrasion wear it away quickly (static use only) |
| Hot dry air (ovens, drying chambers, heating cabinets) | Fuel: petrol, kerosene, diesel (swells quickly and loses its shape) |
| Ozone, UV, sunlight, weather and oxygen (does not age outdoors) | Mineral hydraulic and engine oils, especially with aggressive additives or aromatics |
| Water (up to +100 °C), alcohols and physiological solutions | Steam under pressure above +120 °C (in a closed volume the silicone breaks down) |
| Food and drinks (food-grade VMQ meets FDA / BfR requirements; no smell or taste) | Silicone oils and greases (they dissolve the silicone ring) |
| High-viscosity mineral oils without additives, at moderate temperatures | Strong (concentrated) acids and alkalis: sulfuric, nitric, hydrochloric, caustic soda |
| Salt solutions and diluted detergents | Toluene, benzene, trichloroethylene (aromatic and chlorinated solvents) |
Static use only: never on piston rods, rotating shafts or any rubbing surface; silicone wears away within hours or days. Never lubricate with silicone spray or grease (silicone dissolves in silicone); use glycerin or soapy water.
