Polyacetal (POM) semi-finished products for CNC machining. POM, also known as polyacetal, is one of the most important engineering thermoplastics used in modern sealing technology. Our tubes and rods made of this material are an excellent base for precise turning of parts on CNC machines. Use in seal production The material is widely used for auxiliary components in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, such as: Guide rings and back-up rings – thanks to their high stiffness, they prevent the main seals from deforming under pressure. Spacers and bushings – where high dimensional stability is required. Valve seats and structural parts. Key properties of POM: High stiffness and hardness: the material carries mechanical loads very well without excessive deformation. Excellent machinability: the structure of polyacetal allows perfectly smooth surfaces and very tight dimensional tolerances in turning and milling. Low moisture absorption: unlike polyamides (PA), POM stays dimensionally stable even in a humid environment or in contact with water. Chemical resistance: high resistance to mineral oils, greases, fuels and many organic solvents. Low coefficient of friction: ideal for moving parts, minimising wear of the mating metal parts. Form of supply We supply the material as solid rods and thick-walled tubes, so you can choose the semi-finished product that best fits your project, significantly reducing machining allowances and waste (chips).
