The K37 gland ring is a two-piece, single-acting sealing ring designed for use in the glands of hydraulic cylinders. The profile consists of a flexible sealing part and an integrated anti-extrusion ring. The main sealing element is made of acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) permanently bonded by vulcanisation to impregnated cotton fabric. The reinforcing fabric increases the profile resistance to friction and limits the susceptibility of the sealing edge to deformation under mechanical loads. The second component of the package is a back-up ring made of polyacetal (POM). It acts as an active anti-extrusion ring, protecting the elastomer material from being forced into the gap between the piston rod and the gland under high loads or pressure spikes. Note on the height dimension (H): For K37 and K36 rings, the height dimension (H) given in the parameters defines the nominal width of the mounting groove (installation width in the housing). The physical height of the sealing ring itself is correspondingly smaller, so that the component fits into the groove with a defined technological clearance. This clearance protects the seal against excessive axial compression. The value of the design clearance varies depending on the nominal diameter of the ring. Before installation, thoroughly clean the mounting seat of machining residues and contamination, and coat the seal components with the oil used in the given hydraulic system.
