SFGR guide ring – composite slide ring with PTFE The SFGR guide ring is a precision guiding element made of a polyester fabric composite impregnated with phenolic resin with added PTFE (material equivalent of HPW S1). It is designed for pistons and rods in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders working under high transverse and radial loads. The PTFE modifier markedly lowers the friction, prevents stick-slip and reduces the wear of the mating metal surfaces, for smooth operation of the system. Design and fitting The SFGR profile is factory-cut at an angle, which gives it optimal flexibility and allows easy fitting into closed grooves of the gland or the piston. Chamfered edges make it easy to seat the ring precisely in its groove without the risk of jamming or damaging it.
