Description
The FST MSS7 70×130×10/17 NBR seal is a modular oil seal (radial shaft seal) intended for rotary applications in environments with increased dust and contamination. The cassette design combines a spring-loaded sealing lip with additional dust lips, which allows stable operation in industrial and mobile applications. The seal body is made of NBR elastomer, and the whole forms an integrated module that makes installation easier and compensates for imperfections of the mounting bore. The seal is factory-lubricated, which promotes correct lip operation from the first start-up. Technical information (dimensions): Inner diameter (d): 70 mm ≈ 2.76 inch Outer diameter (D): 130 mm ≈ 5.12 inch Overall height: 10 / 17 mm ≈ 0.39 / 0.67 inch Design and performance features: type: modular radial shaft seal (oil seal) material: NBR (nitrile rubber) sealing lip with garter spring integrated dust lips intended for rotary motion resistance to mineral oils and typical lubricating media Applications: agricultural and construction machinery gearboxes, axles, hubs drives and rotating shafts in industrial machinery
Material
NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber)
- Operating temperature-30 °C to +100 °C
Good with oils, fuels, water and compressed air. Not for brake fluid, solvents, strong acids or sunlight.
| Can be used | Do not use |
|---|---|
| Mineral oil, grease and hydraulic oil (H, H-L, H-LP) | Brake fluid (DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT 5.1): the ring swells quickly |
| Diesel, fuel oil, kerosene | Sunlight and open air (ozone): the rubber cracks |
| Petrol (gasoline), propane, butane | Acetone, MEK, ethyl acetate and similar solvents |
| Water and water-based liquids, up to +80 °C | Benzene, toluene, trichloroethylene (aromatic and chlorinated solvents) |
| Compressed air, also with oil mist | Synthetic ester oils and fire-resistant fluid HFD-R |
| Water-based fire-resistant hydraulic fluids (HFA, HFB, HFC) | Strong (concentrated) acids, e.g. nitric and sulfuric, and strong oxidizers |
| Oil-and-water emulsions | Steam and hot water above +100 °C |
| Weak acids, alkalis and salt solutions, at room temperature | |
| Use with cautionPetrol with a lot of bioethanol (E10, E85): better use FKM (Viton) | |
Shows low compression set within the recommended temperature range.
